Time & Location
April 15, 1-3 at the Universalist Church
This class will be a presentation about the diversity of lizards in California. Truly a wonderland of lizards, our state has over 60 different species, ranging from the common Western Fence Lizard (aka “blue-belly”) to the rare and venomous Gila Monster. Dr. Taylor will take about the lizards’ ecology, physiology, and behavior, all the while showing beautiful photos of these lizards in their habitats.
Dr. Emily Taylor is a professor of Biological Sciences at Cal Poly, where she studies lizards and snakes with her students. She is the author of the 2024 book California Snakes and How To Find Them, and her next book California Lizards and How To Find Them comes out in spring 2025.
