THE CLIFFNOTES - 8/17
Get ready to be transported to the heart and soul of the Big Easy with a boogie blues performance like no other! The Cliffnotes, known as the "funnest band on the Central Coast," are here to make your feet stomp, your heart race, and your soul soar. This talented group of musicians has a long list of accomplishments and experiences that have shaped their unique sound, making them a force to be reckoned with in the world of blues music.

Leading the charge is the incomparable Valerie Johnson, who took over for the legendary singer Janis Joplin in Big Brother & Holding Co., leaving audiences mesmerized and craving more.

Joining Valerie is the legendary Cliff "Crawdaddy" Stepp, a bluesman whose songs have been produced by none other than the iconic BB King himself. With decades of experience under his belt, Cliff's guitar skills are second to none, weaving intricate melodies and riffs that transport listeners straight to the heart of the Mississippi Delta.
Bringing his harmonica virtuosity to the table is Joey Five'n' Dimes, a true maestro who has shared the stage with countless Chicago blues legends. His soulful harp playing adds a touch of authenticity to the band's New Orleans sound, echoing the spirit of greats like Little Walter and Sonny Boy Williamson.

Driving the rhythm is the relentless beat of drummer Daniel "Grasshopper" Ruben, who grew up breathing in the blues alongside his childhood friend Coco Montoya. Daniel's precise and powerful drumming provides the foundation upon which the Cliffnotes build their infectious groove.

And let's not forget the remarkable Long Tall Lizzy, a professional bassist and vocalist who has honed her craft while performing on Princess Cruises. Lizzy's commanding stage presence and versatile bass lines anchor the band's sound, providing a solid backbone that allows the other musicians to shine.

Individually, each member of The Cliffnotes brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the stage. But when they come together, their collective passion and musical chemistry create a magnetic energy that is simply undeniable. The New Orleans boogie blues performed by this extraordinary ensemble will have you tapping your feet, clapping your hands, and dancing with reckless abandon.

Come see for yourself at Buttercup Bakery to kick off the series on 8/17!
