This group discussion course will review recommended listening practices and practical crisis management techniques. Because we have to take care of ourselves in order to take care of others, it will also offer tips on how to avoid compassion fatigue and helper exhaustion.
Kathy Bornino is a California licensed marriage and family therapist with a wealth of information and tips to share about mind/body/spirit healing. She 45 years of experience as a couples and individual transformational psychotherapist and hypnotherapist.
15 years of teaching high school, community college and adult education classes have given her broad familiarity with hundreds of tools for growth and healing. She also has experience in training peer counselors, much of which also applies to simple friendship support.
