Songwriters at Play presents a living room concert in the Avila Beach area featuring Matt Axton and his band, Badmoon. Show begins at 2pm on Sun. Oct. 27 (we'll send you the address and more details after you buy tickets). Tickets are $20 general admission.
Matt is a rising star on the Americana music scene. He carries the Axton Family legacy -- his grandmother Mae Boren Axton wrote Elvis Presley's first hit, "Heartbreak Hotel". And his dad, Hoyt Axton, was the writer of many hits such as Greenback Dollar, Joy To The World, and Never Been to Spain. Matt performs a mix of his original songs and those legacy hits.
Blending all genres of country, blues, rock, roots, and funk, Matt Axton is true Americana. He’s one of the rare few captivating audiences with beautiful, acoustic country songs followed up with ripping, double guitar rock songs, all the while keeping an emphasis on storytelling and bringing "Joy to You".
