Her new sensational new band is named Marci Jean & The Fever. They will transport you back in time to the juke joints and knocked out dives! Playing 1940s and 50s jump blues and R&B! Marci Jean sings authentic originals as well as covering artists like Laverne Baker to Etta James. This excellent group features well-known local blues guitarist and vocalist James Scoolis and also national recording artist Wes Star on drums. The band is rounded out by Wil Anderson on bass and Brad Hackleman on saxophone.

Valerie Johnson toured Europe with a well known gospel group, and upon her return to the U.S. got hired by Big Brother & The Holding Company to fill Janis Joplin’s shoes!
Al B Blue is a classically trained pianist who later became part of a New Jersey Doo-Wop group. Upon moving to California he taught himself guitar and was soon touring the U.S. with a band that was opening for Curtis Mayfield, Hugh Masekela and others.
Dr. Bob Brenman (aka, “The Doctor of Safe Sax”) is a recently retired doctor and longtime saxophone enthusiast, with a passion for Dixieland Jazz and blues. Dr. Bob has been performing with Val & Al at Bon Temps Creole Cafe for over 10 years!
Liz Douglas has performed at dozens and dozens of venues on the Central Coast, including service clubs, country clubs, hotels and restaurants, plus numerous private parties and events. One of her career highlights (and major professional credit) was performing for several years aboard Princess Cruises alongside her husband Bill’s group, the Bill Douglas Quartet. She got to tour the world while sharing her love of music with all those aboard!

June 30th – Ginger Pauley with the Hoosier Daddies playing vintage jazz with ’20s nostalgia – a nine piece band from LA! At the Pismo Vets Hall. Opening band is the Decomposing Brass Quintet.
July 20th, SATURDAY: The Midiri Brothers at the Pismo Vets Hall. This is a very special event! The opening band is The Barrelhouse Wailers.
August 25th – BSR annual BBQ Backyard Show. Dave Stuckey and the Hot House Gang with the Oasis Ukulele Band as opener.
October 27-29 – A Special BSR – Central Coast Jazz Weekend is in the planning stages!
