5th Annual Butterfly Ball: Crystals and Chrysalises
The Octagon Barn in San Luis Obispo
October 12th, 4-8 pm
Join us for an evening filled with music, food & drink, inspiring presentations, and a silent auction to support western monarch butterfly conservation! This year's gala, themed Crystals, and Chrysalises will directly fund the restoration of The Pismo State Beach Monarch Grove! We hope to see you in your finest greens and golds for this elegant and inspirational evening!
What are you supporting?
The Pismo State Beach Monarch Grove is one of the most visited western monarch sites in California and held last year's 2nd highest number of overwintering western monarchs! The Grove was listed in the top 50(of the 400 surveys) of California's “most in need of protection and management” overwintering sites by Xerces Society. The Grove is in desperate need of restoration to protect the western monarch, a species on the brink of extinction.
“Active management of these sites is the key to ensuring that they will support monarchs in the future,” - Sarina Jepsen, Director of the Xerces Society’s Endangered Species program
Dine, drink, dance and enjoy with us on October 12th, to help us reach our goal of $50,000 and protect this critical Central Coast western monarch habitat!
Your ticket purchase and donations will help:
Increase visitor accessibility by restoring DG pathways
Plant native nectar species
Prevent trampling by installing new fencing
And much more…
