ABOUT FUNK JUNKET:

The Funk Junket is a high-voltage global funk band dedicated to creating irresistible grooves and positive energy for the soul. Based on California's Central Coast, The Funk Junket's six journeymen musicians cook up a fresh gumbo of jazz, funk, cumbia , salsa and afrobeat that is sure to pack the dance floor.  Our mission is to uplift, inspire and ignite through an original fusion of funky afro/latin-grooves and jazz inspired melodies. Formed in late 2023, The Funk Junket has already gained an enthusiastic following and is becoming a sought-after band for its funky horns, global grooves, deep pocket rhythms and original compositions. They are sure to bring some joy and movement to your body mind and soul.

The Funk Junket Musicians include: Paul Trent (drums), Billy Baxmeyer (electric bass guitar and vocals), Hector Mayoral (vocals, congas, percussion), Aaron Burger (electric guitar), SLO High School music program alum Sam Franklin (tenor and baritone saxophone), and Geof Land (trumpet, flugelhorn, vocals)

ABOUT DOM JAZZ COMBO:

DOM is an emerging jazz combo formed by students who played together in the SLO High School Honors Jazz Ensemble. Their name was inspired by one of their favorite funk pieces. The group performs a mix of Latin, funk, and jazz standards, as well as creative jazz arrangements inspired by other musical genres. They perform at SLO county wineries and private events.

DOM musicians include: Charlie Valadao (tenor saxophone, SLOHS senior), Nikita Browne (drums, SLOHS junior), Mason Horstman (bass, SLOHS junior), and Wes Bisheff (piano, SLOHS junior).

ABOUT RIATA RANCH:

The breathtaking Riata Ranch is a family owned and operated 1,400 acre property nestled at the base of the Santa Lucia Mountains in Santa Margarita, California. Once inside the gate, a world of unique splendor and beauty awaits.

The rural community of Santa Margarita is known as a stomping ground for acclaimed farm-to-table dining, wine tasting, and craft beer. The quaint village offers the solitude of country living with the bustling energy of San Luis Obispo’s thriving downtown a short drive away. Warm spring and summer days are cooled by coastal evening breezes making the Ranch a spectacular setting for alfresco gatherings.
