Alex Hischier is a painter, sculptor and writer living on the Central
Coast of California. Her work is influenced by abstract expressionists
such as Joan Mitchell, Willem de Kooning, and Joe Bradley, and by the
work of Naomi Klein and Joan Didion. With a background in
international affairs and human security, she explores themes of disaster
and redemption, psychic unrest, and the intrinsic value of failure.
Her first novel, God’s Teeth, is forthcoming.
