Step into the intricate world of family dynamics and the power of words with Wine Country Theatre's debut Reader's Theatre production of Eleemosynary by Lee Blessing. American playwright Lee Blessing's play concerns three generations of women and the delicate relationships between them. The word "eleemosynary" is an adjective used to describe something that is related to or supported by charity. It is also the youngest character Echo's favorite word, as it was the final word in a national spelling bee she once won.

Performed in a theatre space located at a private residence in Atascadero, this intimate seating provides the perfect setting for this compelling exploration of three generations of women and the intricate relationships that bind them together.  Written to be performed with minimal sets and props, Eleemosynary delves deep into the lives of Dorothea, Artemis, and Echo - each grappling with their own desires, dreams, and conflicts.

Dorothea, the unconventional matriarch, seeks to break free from societal norms, while Artemis, her daughter, navigates the complexities of motherhood and career. Meanwhile, Echo, the youngest, finds solace in the world of spelling bees, where words become both her refuge and her battleground.

Join us for an evening of thought-provoking drama as we delve into the intricate dynamics of this extraordinary family. Eleemosynary is a celebration of language, exploring how words can both unite and divide, heal and wound.

The address for the private residence will be provided to ticket holders upon purchase. Don't miss your chance to witness this captivating tale unfold in our unique theatre setting. Reserve your seats now for an unforgettable evening of storytelling and exploration.
