Set out for an unforgettable afternoon at the Point San Luis Lighthouse, where you will enjoy some of the Central Coast's very finest musical talent performing on the area's most spectacular stage, perched high atop the blue Pacific Ocean.  

THIS CONCERT: 
Dave Becker Quartet, featuring Nicole Stromsoe! 
 
Three Barflyz members (Dave Becker - saxophone, Ken Husted - bass, and Dean Giles - drums) are joined by Kristian Ducharme (Damon Castillo Band, 41k) and featuring the rich vocals of Nicole Stromsoe. This star studded cast will deliver a fantastic afternoon of jazz, blues and soul at our stunning location perched high atop the Pacific. 

You've got 2 ways to attend the show: 
1) Take a van shuttle (Your ticket includes round trip van shuttle and parking at Wild Cherry Canyon Tour parking lot)
2) Arrive by boat (Use your own paddle craft and land at Lighthouse Beach, located just inside the breakwall) 






















 

We'll have great food, wine and beer available for sale. The historic site will be 

open for touring. Our gift shop will be open. And - you'll see our docents in period attire on site for lighthouse storytelling. We provide chairs.

TICKET OPTIONS:
• $40   - Includes transportation from Wild Cherry Canyon via SLO Safe Ride Vans
• $25 - Admission to the concert - you provide your own transportation via kayak / SUP 
• $400 - Table for up to 8 people, including 2 nice bottles of wine 
 
No outside chairs, food, or beverage, please. No pets please. This is a smoke free site.

THE BAD NEWS: 
This show was originally billed with the Barflyz, featuring Kenny Lee Lewis of the Steve Miller Band. Unfortunately, due to Steve Miller testing positive for Covid-19, his tour was rerouted and Kenny is unable to perform for us.  


THE GOOD NEWS: 
Three Barflyz members (Dave Becker - saxophone, Ken Husted - bass, and Dean Giles - drums) are joined by Kristian Ducharme (Damon Castillo Band, 41k) and featuring the rich vocals of Nicole Stromsoe.

Dave Becker

dave-beckerDave has been a music instructor at University of Florida and Cuesta College, Ca. for over a decade and is one of the most in demand saxophone players on the west coast. His credits include playing or recording with: Wayne Bergeron, Eric Marienthal, Pete Christlieb, Gordon Goodwin, Bobby Shew, Bernie Dresel, Dianne Shuur, Ernie Watts, Sam Rivers, Jack Jones, Bob Sheppard, Wynton Marsalis, Manhattan Transfer, The Temptations, and Marvin Hamlish.

 

Nicole Stromsoe

dave-beckerPerforming an earthy & atmospheric assemblage, inspired by old soul, jazz, and blues, Nicole Stromsoe's stirring voice sticks with you. Nicole is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music (Boston).  She lives in the seaside forest of Cambria, California.  Whether performing as a solo artist, with her trio or full band, or collaborating with the best of the best local musicians, Nicole always delivers an unforgettable experience. 


Ken Hustad

Providing the foundation for this group is Ken Hustad on bass. Hustad has played with local jazz song stylist Inga Swearingen, Diane Shurr, Marvin Hamlish, and Marc O’Connor. He is also a professor of stringed instrument instruction a Cuesta College. His virtuosity and tasty command of this difficult instrument keeps in demand with several Central Coast philharmonic concert orchestras.


Kristian Ducharme

You have seen Kristian behind the keyboards with Central Coast powerhouse Damon Castillo Band, as well as 41K, led by saxophonist Dave Becker.  His tasty work on the keys add an intricate layer of rhythm and harmonies crucial to the dynamic sound of this band. 



Dean Giles

MI graduate Dean Giles has performed with the popular, local cool-jazz band Human Nation for years and is a prominent percussion instructor here on the Central Coast. His ability to play a wide range of musical styles and dynamic ranges enables Dean to capture the subtle nuances of Latin and swing percussion as well as some kick-ass rock and funk grooves. Dean has also performed or recorded with Louie Ortega, Red Holloway, The Mills Brothers and Don Rickles.

From there, you can change the name on the ticket & email it to the transferred person.
